SCDSS is seeking qualified providers to implement prevention and Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) provisions of the Family First Prevention Act (FFPSA). This provider will support the review and revision of the Prevention Plan providing consultation on the evaluation section, development of continuous quality improvement, and support consultation on the development of IT systems that will facilitate monitoring of the Family First Pilot.

SCDMH Food Services provides three meals a day and snacks to over 800 in-patient clients. In an effort to lower ever rising food costs; SCDMH has worked with Good Source which provides vendor overruns and mislabeled food items at deep discounts to the agency. These discounts save the State of SC thousands of dollars a year in food costs. SCDMH’s market research has not produced a vendor who can meet the volume demands and delivery terms required by SCDMH Food Services to provide the required products to our patients; many of which have specialized food requirements. For this reason, Good Source is the only vendor suitable and acceptable to provide these specialty items to SCDMH. Estimated annual expenditure is $80,000.

SCDMH has been standardized for more than two decades on the Aladdin Temp-Rite retherm syste; which is the backbone of the agency’s food delivery system to the hospitals and nursing home facilities. Aladdin Temp-Rite is the manufacturer and sole bulk provider of the OEM consumable supplies, equipment, and parts that are required on a weekly basis. .. The bulk of the supplies purchased by the agency are disposable trays and serving pieces used for food delivery to the patients. The agency also purchases equipment and replacement parts for the equipment (carts, etc.) that makeup the system under this sole source arrangement. While research has found various used and refurbished replacement parts on EBay and at some part houses; none can provide the new OEM, supplies, equipment, and parts in the bulk amounts required by the agency to service the patients under our care. For this reason, Aladdin Temp-Rite is the only vendor suitable and acceptable to provide these items to SCDMH. The estimated annual expenditure is $400,000.
