This project is the second phase of public transit planning in the Town of Hilton Head Island Census Small Urban Area.  It will take the conclusions and recommendations of the 2018 planning project to the details of routes and scheduling to ensure that the new or expanded transit operations are feasible and well utilized by meeting the needs of potential passengers.

The Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) is pleased to announce a call for project submissions for the FY 2019 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). An Information Guide and Application is available on the CMCOG website that summarizes the program and outlines the project submission process.

The Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG), as the designated recipient for the Large Urban Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program funds in the Columbia Metropolitan Region, is announcing a Call for Projects. This call for projects extends to any transit provider within the Census Designated UZA.

The available FY 2017 funds are $425,489. This program requires a 50% matching requirement for operating costs, 20% for ADA compliant capital costs, and a 20% matching requirement for Non-ADA compliant capital costs.

This project consists of a traffic study of the area on and around Hobard Rd to provide Public Works with information to explore the feasibility of various alternatives for the section of Hobart Rd which crosses over the Norfolk Southern Rail.
