SCDMH intends to enter a one year contract with four one year renewal options for fire alam testing, inspections, parts, and repairs for its Columbia locations with Johnson Controls. These systems were installed oringially by Simplex Grinell which was purchased in by Johnson Controls. Repairs on these protected systems require the use of certified technicians and parts available only through Johnson Controls. Failure to use these certfied technicians or OEM parts; voids warranties and puts these critical systems are risk of going down. This would result in safety risks to both staff and our patients/clients. For the above reasons, Johnson Controls is the only suitable and acceptable offeror to maintain these systems. Estimated annual costs are $82,325 for inspections and $93,000 for parts and repairs. Any other vendor who feels agrieved by this determination must file a protest in writing with the Chief Procurement Officer, Materials Management Office, prior to the closing date at protest-mmo@mmo.sc.gov.
