In accordance with Section 11-35-1560(a) of the SC Consolidated Procurement Code, and Section 19-445.2015 of the SC Code of State Regulations, Winthrop University intends to sole source the procurement of fire alarm system for Winthrop's Johnson Hall. Winthrop is replacing the existing Fire Control Instruments fire alarm system that is old, failing and parts are obsolete and not available with a new code compliant voice evacuation system that reports through the existing central campus monitoring system. Johnson Controls is familiar with the building and is readily available to provide and install the new system. In order to be compatible with and communicate efficiently with the front end system for global reporting, the new equipment needs to be a Johnson Controls product. Address questions or concerns via e-mail to burroughsi@winthrop.edu for this sole source no later than 5pm on 2/2/2022.
