The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), College of Health Professions in accordance with §11-35-1560 (A) of the SC Consolidated Procurement Code, intends to award without competition, a sole source contract to Physician Assistant Education Associate (PAEA). The College of Health Professions-Physician Assistant Division(CHP-PAD), is requesting to procure the Student Exam Box™ from Physician Assistant Education Association(PAEA). The Student Exam Box™ sets up the Physician Assistant student for success with the full suite of PAEA Assessment exams. The CHP-PAS main goal is to provide a rigorous education and valid assessments. The Student Exam Box™ is Trademark by the PAEA, also is designed to address those program goals and needs. The Student Exam Box™ Package consist of PACKRAT® End of Rotation™ End of Curriculum™. The CHP- PAD, recently purchased the Student Exam Box™ for the class of 2023. The accreditation body for Physician Assistants, ARC-PA, requires assessment of student competency throughout all phases of physician assistant graduate programs. The CHP-PAD has researched and found that at the present time, no other vendor offers publicly available assessment tools and exams of this kind. As a result, our program has been using these exams to evaluate student performance and to provide on-going submission to ARC-PA with data meeting their reporting and analytic measure requirements.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responsible sources who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide these services must notify the Procurement Officer at seabrokv@musc.edu no later than April 22, 2024, (12:00 a.m. EST). Telephone responses will not be accepted. Upon receipt of the interested parties' notification, the Procurement Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
PROTESTS (MAY 2019)
If you are aggrieved in connection with the solicitation or award of the contract, you may be entitled to protest, but only as provided in Section 11-35-4210. To protest a solicitation, you must submit a protest within fifteen days of the date the applicable solicitation document is issued. To protest an award, you must (i) submit notice of your intent to protest within five business days of the date the award notice is posted, and (ii) submit your actual protest within fifteen days of the date the award notice is posted. Days are calculated as provided in Section 11-35-310(13). Both protests and notices of intent to protest must be in writing and must be received by the appropriate Chief Procurement Officer within the time provided. See clause entitled “Protest-CPO”.
