Almaco is the only manufacturer of specialized/research plot planters (grain drills) equipped with the ‘SkyTrip’ GPS tripping systems which is patented by Almaco and not offered by any other manufacturer or reseller/distributor. SkyTrip GPS is compatible with all tractor auto-steer systems currently in use by the University, and provides the ability to plant research plots accurately, quickly, and safely without the use of a cable. Only Almaco offers their patented ’SkyTrip’ GPS system, which is compatible with the Clemson University CROP Team’s existing tractor and GPS tower. For these reasons, this is a sole source procurement.
Winthrop University intends to procure annual service contracts for the Department of Chemistry’s 400MHz NMR spectrometer, manufactured by JEOL USA, Inc. JEOL USA Inc. is the manufacturer and sole factory authorized provider of service, repair, and replacement in the United States for the instruments listed. Service and repairs must be done by JEOL-trained service engineers, and JEOL is the only vendor that can supply the required annual preventative maintenance service contract. Continued operation with minimal downtime is necessary for the continuance of the program, as the NMR spectrometer is the most critical piece of equipment in the department for students and researchers. Therefore, Winthrop intends to sole source these services for the period of January 31, 2023, through January 30, 2028. In accordance with Regulation 19-445.2105 (B)(1) where the item is one of a kind.
Oppidan is providing emergency residential services in their Adult Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) services center for a South Carolinian eligible for DDSN. Due to behaviors, the individual could no longer safely live at home. In total 150 providers were contacted both in and out of state to review this individual's clinical information for the potential provision of services. Oppidan was able to meet this individual's needs and has an anticipated vacancy.
To support Clemson administratively for work and administrative contracts required at the Genoa Italy facility. Due to the remote location of this facility, a vendor was required to maintain the location and cover program operations.

In accordance with Section 1560 of the Berkeley County School District Procurement Code, the school district intends to award without competition, a contract for replacement football helmets to Riddell for the period of January 30, 2023 to December 31, 2023. The potential value of this purchase is estimated at $60,000, but will not exceed $95,000. The amount ordered will be contingent upon the number of helmets to be replaced. BCSD helmets are reconditioned annually, and helmets deemed "unsafe" must be replaced. Several of the district's high school utilize Riddell helmets; therefore, replacement helmets must be purchased from Riddell to match existing helmets. Riddell is the sole manufacturer and distributor of their helmets; therefore, no third party distributors are available to compete this acquisition. If anyone is aggrieved by this intended, you have the right to protest per Section 4210 of the BCSD Procurement Code. Clemson University intends to sole source the Ellucian Workflow. This purchase is to be sole sourced because this is the only product that has both the necessary functionality to create workflows, while also having out of the box integrations directly to 2 other Ellucian systems used by Clemson University, Ellucian Ethos and Banner. This integration is necessary to make the ERP system work as required and improve efficiency, while not costing anything to implement this solution. The total price of all services is $92,288, which includes all software licenses for Workflow. Bidder’s right to protest as listed in Section 11-35-4210 in the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code applies to this announcement of an emergency procurement.

The South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC) is seeking qualified vendors to provide two (2) Turbo V Ionization Sources that are used to operate two SCIEX systems. The systems are a SCIEX X500R LC-QTOF-MS system and a SCIEX 5500 LC-MS/MS system. The Turbo V Ionization Sources provided must be compatible with these two current systems. Vendor must be able to provide the Turbo V Ionization Sources specific to each SCIEX instrument, as usage of these parts are required to maintain instrument operation and vendor service contracts; while maintaining the standard level of performance as stated in the operational manual provided with the original equipment. The total estimated dollar amount of the service contract purchases is $75,300.00.
